The Leon Police Department currently has three reserve officers. They are Elmer Easton, Dan Cox, and Crystal Walker. These individual put in numerous hours of volunteer training and classroom time.

*******************Thankful for all our volunteers!********************

Currently the reserve program consists of three officers.  There are several duties that our reserve officers have.  They attend weekly classes, which are mostly hands-on but have some book work.  Our reserves assist in serving search and arrest warrants, along with many other duties that a full-time officer has.  To become a certified reserve officer you must receive 60 hours of state mandated training.  Other requirements of training include 30 hours of firearms training, 8 hours of CPR and ride time hours.

If you are interested in seeing what the reserve program is about or would like to pick up an application, stop by the city hall and speak to Assistant Chief Walker or Chief Zeiss.
